Party & Play — Play Policy, Health & Safety Guide
Location: Birmingham (Erdington), UK
Last updated: 22 January 2026 (please review signage on the day of your visit)
Our safety approach
-
We aim to provide fun, challenging play while reducing avoidable “bad risks” (e.g., collisions, entanglement, eye injuries, choking hazards, slips, contamination).
-
Our equipment is selected, installed, checked, and operated using recognised play safety good practice, including the BS EN 1176 series and, where relevant to indoor structures, BS EN 1176-10 (Fully Enclosed Play Equipment) principles.
-
These policies are part of our risk controls and apply to every visit.
This Play Policy and Health & Safety Guide is designed to keep children, families, and staff safe while ensuring everyone enjoys Party & Play. The rules below apply to all visitors. Additional rules apply in specific zones (e.g., Toddler Zone, Trampolines, Inflatable Slide and etc) and are displayed on signage at each entrance.
By entering Party & Play or any play zone, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree (for yourself and the children in your care) to follow this Policy and all on-site signage and staff instructions.Party & Play is not liable for accidents, injury, loss or damage arising from misuse of equipment or failure to follow the rules.

Inflatable Slide Rules
-
Age Limit: For children age 3 and up only. Children under 3 are not permitted on the inflatable slide.
-
No Adults: Adults are not allowed on or inside the inflatable slide (except in an emergency). The inflatable is designed for kids’ use only.
-
Attire: Socks with grip (anti-slip socks) must be worn on the inflatable. No shoes at any time. Remove any sharp items or jewelry before entering.
-
No Food/Drink: Do not bring food, drinks, or gum onto or near the inflatable slide. Keep the area clean and dry to prevent slips.
-
One at a Time: Only one child sliding at a time. Wait for the person ahead to clear the slide completely before the next child slides.
-
Proper Sliding: Always slide feet first, facing forward. Do not slide head-first or on your stomach.
-
Climbing: No climbing up the slide or on its side walls. Use the stairs/steps to go back to the top.
Toddler Area Rules
-
Age Limit: This area is for toddlers under 3 years old only. Older children are not permitted in the toddler zone for safety.
-
Supervision: An adult must supervise children in the toddler area at all times. Stay within arm’s reach of your toddler as they play.
-
Gentle Play: No running, rough play, or climbing on the outside of toddler equipment. The toddler area is a calm zone for little ones.
-
Toys & Equipment: Use the toddler toys and soft play equipment gently. Do not throw toys, and keep all equipment inside the toddler area.
-
No Food/Drink: Absolutely no food, drinks, or gum in the toddler play area (to avoid choking hazards and keep the area clean).
(The toddler area is a safe space for our youngest guests. Thank you for ensuring it remains calm and clean.)
Trampoline Rules
-
Age Range: Ages 3–10 only. The trampoline area is restricted to children between 3 and 10 years old. No younger kids, and no older kids or adults on the trampolines.
-
One at a Time: Only one person per trampoline at a time. Never allow multiple children on the same trampoline mat simultaneously, as this can cause injuries.
-
No Jumping Across: Do not attempt to jump from one trampoline to another. Always stop and step off to move between trampolines – jumping between mats is dangerous.
-
Safe Bouncing: Jump in the center of the trampoline and keep control. No flips, somersaults, or other stunts are allowed. Also, no pushing, tackling, or running on the trampolines.
-
Food/Drink: No food, drinks, or any objects on the trampolines. Empty your pockets before jumping (no sharp or hard items).
-
Exit When Done: If you are not actively jumping, please step off the trampoline area. Do not sit or lie down on the trampolines; use the surrounding seating area to rest.
(For everyone’s safety, our staff may enforce a time limit during busy periods. Always follow the attendant’s instructions in the trampoline zone.)
Play Frame & Ball Pit Rules
-
General Use: The multi-level play structure (play frame) and ball pit are for children only. Adult supervision from outside the structure is required at all times.
-
No Climbing on Nets: Do not climb on the netting, barrier walls, or any exterior parts of the play frame. Climbing is only allowed on the designated ladders, steps, and play obstacles inside.
-
Slide Safely: Follow the slide rules inside the play frame – one child at a time and always feet first. No climbing up slides from the bottom. After sliding, move away from the slide exit promptly.
-
Ball Pit Etiquette: No jumping or diving into the ball pit from outside, and no climbing out by dumping balls. Use the entry/exit points. Do not throw balls at others or out of the pit.
-
No Rough Play: No pushing, wrestling, or rough play anywhere in the play structure. Be mindful of smaller children and take turns on equipment.
-
No Food/Drink: Keep all food, snacks, and drinks out of the play frame and ball pit. (If you need a snack break, please exit to the seating area.)
-
Report Issues: If any balls or objects from the play area fall out or any spills/accidents occur, inform a staff member. We’ll address it to keep the area safe.
Party Room Rules
-
No Running: Do not run or engage in horseplay in the party rooms or hallways. Walk carefully to prevent accidents, especially with food and decorations around.
-
No Throwing Food: Food fights or throwing cake/food is not allowed. Please keep food on plates or in mouths – this keeps the room clean and everyone safe.
-
Door Safety: Keep the party room door closed at all times. This helps with noise, and more importantly, prevents young children from wandering out or falling on stairs.
-
Stair Caution: Use caution on the stairs to the party rooms. Always hold the handrail and walk (don’t run) up and down. Children should be assisted by an adult on the stairs.
-
Supervision: Adults hosting the party are responsible for supervising all children in the party room. Ensure kids are behaving safely (no climbing on furniture, etc.).
(Enjoy your celebration! These rules help ensure a safe and fun party for everyone.)
Toilet Rules
-
Adult Supervision: Young children should be accompanied by an adult in the toilets. Do not allow small children to go to the restroom unattended.
-
No Playing: The restroom is not a play area – no running, shouting, or playing around. This ensures the area stays clean and safe.
-
Use Properly: Do not climb on sinks, countertops, or toilets. Only use the facilities for their intended purpose.
-
Hygiene: Always flush after use and wash your hands with soap. Teach children proper handwashing to maintain hygiene for all guests.
-
Keep it Clean: No food or drinks in the toilets. Dispose of paper towels and other waste in bins. If you notice any mess or issues (like low soap or toilet paper), please inform staff.
General Slide Rules (Non-Inflatable Slides)
-
One at a Time: Only one person should go down a slide at once. Wait at the top until the slide is clear and the previous rider has moved away.
-
Proper Sliding: Always go down feet first, seated or lying on your back. Do not slide head-first or standing up– serious injuries can occur.
-
No Climbing Up: Never climb up a slide from the bottom or stop mid-way. If you want to slide again, walk around and use the stairs or ladder to the top.
-
Clear the Exit: Move away from the bottom of the slide promptly after sliding. This ensures the next person can slide down safely without colliding.
-
Age/Size Appropriateness: Use slides that are appropriate for your child’s age and size. (Toddlers should use smaller slides in the toddler area; the big slides are for older kids.)
(Follow these slide rules on all our slides to avoid accidents. Slide smart, and have fun!)
