Conditions of Entry

Please read these rules before entering the play areas. These rules are conditions of entry and are designed to help keep Party & Play safe, clean, and enjoyable for all guests.
Policy scope

These rules apply to all guests using the soft play, role play, toddler, party, and toilet areas at Party & Play.

Children remain the responsibility of their parent, guardian, or carer at all times.

Nothing in this policy affects any rights that cannot legally be excluded under UK law.
General rules for all areas
-
Adult supervision: All children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Parents, guardians, or carers remain responsible for the behaviour, wellbeing, and safety of the children in their care while on our premises.

Follow staff instructions: Please follow all safety signs and staff instructions at all times. Staff may pause or stop play, or ask guests to leave a play area, if they believe anyone is at risk.

Footwear: Shoes must be removed before entering any play area. Anti-slip / grip socks must be worn in all play zones by both children and adults.

Food and drink: No food, drinks, sweets, or chewing gum are allowed in any play area. Food and drink must only be consumed in designated seating or party areas.

Safe play: No running, rough play, pushing, wrestling, or bullying. All guests must play gently, take turns, and be mindful of smaller children.

Use equipment properly: Do not climb on netting, railings, exterior panels, barriers, or the outside of any play equipment. Only use designated entrances, exits, steps, and access points.

Personal items: Please remove or safely store sharp objects, jewellery, glasses where appropriate, and loose items before play. Pockets should be emptied to avoid injury or damage.

Illness and hygiene: Please do not visit if your child, or anyone in your group, has had vomiting or diarrhoea within the last 48 hours. Please tell a member of staff immediately if there is any spill, toileting accident, injury, or sickness.

Photography and filming: Please respect the privacy of other families. Do not take photos or videos of other children without consent.

Emergency procedures: If the fire alarm sounds or staff instruct you to evacuate, stop play immediately and leave the building by the nearest safe exit. Do not re-enter until staff confirm it is safe to do so.

Important legal note: Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Inflatable slide rules
-
Age limit: The inflatable slide is for children aged 3 years and over only. Children under 3 are not permitted to use it.

Adults: Adults are not allowed on or inside the inflatable slide except in an emergency.

Socks and clothing: Grip socks must be worn at all times. Shoes are not allowed. Remove sharp or hard items before entering.

Food and drink: No food, drinks, sweets, or chewing gum on or near the inflatable slide.

One at a time: Only one child may slide at a time. The next child must wait until the slide and exit area are completely clear.

Slide properly: Always slide feet first and facing forward. Do not slide head first, on your stomach, or while standing.

No climbing up the slide: Children must not climb up the slide surface or side walls. Always use the designated steps or stairs to return to the top.

Capacity and safe use: Please follow any posted limits, age guidance, and staff instructions. Staff may separate larger and smaller children where needed for safety.
Toddler area rules
-
Age limit: The toddler area is for children under 3 years old only. Older children are not allowed in this area.

Close supervision: An adult must supervise at all times and should remain close enough to assist the child immediately.

Gentle play only: No running, rough play, or climbing on the outside of toddler equipment.

Toys and equipment: Please use toys and soft play equipment gently. Do not throw toys, and do not remove them from the toddler area.

Food and drink: No food, drinks, sweets, or chewing gum are allowed in the toddler area.
Play frame and ball pit rules
-
Who can use it: The multi-level play frame and ball pit are for children only. Adults must supervise from outside the structure and should only enter if a child needs help or in an emergency.

No climbing on the outside: Do not climb on netting, barriers, or exterior sections of the play frame.

Slides inside the frame: Only one child on a slide at a time. Always slide feet first. Do not climb up slides from the bottom.
-
Clear the exit: After sliding, move away from the bottom immediately so the next child can slide safely.

Ball pit safety: No jumping or diving into the ball pit from outside. Use the proper entry and exit points. Do not throw balls at other people or out of the pit.

No rough play: No pushing, wrestling, or aggressive behaviour anywhere in the play frame or ball pit.

Food and drink: No food, drinks, sweets, or chewing gum in the play frame or ball pit.

Report hazards: If balls spill out, equipment appears damaged, or there is an accident or spill, please tell a member of staff straight away.
Mini City role play room rules
-
Keep items in the room: All props, toys, and items must stay in the Mini City room and must not be removed.
-
Tidy before leaving: Please return all items to their proper place before leaving the room.
-
Calm play only: No pushing, shouting, running, or chasing in this area.
-
Respect others: Children must play kindly and respectfully with one another at all times.
-
Adult supervision: An adult must stay with children at all times while using the role play room.
-
Small parts warning: Some items may contain small parts. Children under 3 must be closely supervised by a parent or guardian to reduce choking risk.
Small Farm (PYO) rules
-
Items must stay in the area: Do not remove any items from the Small Farm area.
-
Do not put items in the mouth: Nothing from this area should be chewed, sucked, or put in the mouth.
-
Handle gently: Do not pull, force, bend, or push items too hard, as this may damage the equipment or create a hazard.
Montessori toy wall rules
-
Age restriction: Children under 3 must not use the Montessori Toy Wall because small parts may be present and could cause a choking hazard.
-
Adult accompaniment: Children aged 3 and over must be accompanied and supervised by an adult while using this area.
-
Safe use only: No throwing. All pieces must stay within the toy wall area.
-
Do not bite or swallow: Items must not be bitten, chewed, or swallowed.
Party room rules
-
Walking only: No running or horseplay in the party rooms, corridors, or nearby areas.
-
No throwing food: Food fights or throwing food, cake, or table items are not allowed.

Door safety: Please keep the party room door closed unless entering or leaving. This helps keep children safe and prevents wandering near the stairs.

Stair safety: Walk carefully on the stairs, hold the handrail, and assist young children at all times.
-
Supervision: The hosting adults are responsible for supervising children in the party room and ensuring safe behaviour, including no climbing on furniture.
Toilet rules

Young children must be accompanied: Small children should not go to the toilets alone and must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Not a play area: No running, shouting, or playing in the toilets.

Use properly: Do not climb on sinks, worktops, or toilets.

Hygiene: Please flush after use and wash hands thoroughly with soap and water.

Keep it clean: No food or drink in the toilets. Please place waste in the bins provided and inform staff if supplies are low or an area needs attention.
General slide rules for non-inflatable slides
-
One at a time: Only one person may use a slide at a time.
-
Slide correctly: Always slide feet first. Do not slide head first or while standing.
-
Do not climb up slides: Children must not climb up a slide from the bottom or stop part way down.
-
Use the proper route: To go again, walk around and use the designated steps or ladder.

Clear the bottom quickly: Move away from the slide exit promptly after sliding.
-
Use the correct slide: Children should only use slides that are suitable for their age, size, and the relevant play zone.
Right to refuse play / conditions of entry

For the safety of all guests, Party & Play reserves the right to refuse entry, refuse access to equipment, pause play, or ask any person to leave a play area or the premises if these safety rules are not followed.

Any action taken will be reasonable and proportionate to the safety risk involved.

These rules are in place to help protect children, families, and staff, and to support a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for everyone.
